The Journey
Arriving in the capital, Tirana, one will quickly notice the abundance of Mercedes Benz and other luxurious European vehicles being used by everyone from the local shop owner to the village farmer (to plough his field). Unfortunately these images of wealth can give a false impression of the realties being endured by many individuals who are suffering from a fragile and poor social security system. The team will link up with local NGO, Children First Fund (CFF), and begin to prepare for their task. They will be required to purchase and prepare food for approximately 30 individuals who line up every morning at 4am to sort through the fresh rubbish at the local garbage dump. Delivering this fresh meal will help to motivate the team for their next task which will require them all to work cohesively and around the clock to achieve their goal. CFF is also rehabilitating Asylum centers which desperately need refurbishing. The team will immediately head out to Peshkopi in the east of Albania and, although tired and emotional from the previous

nights activities, will work with local tradesmen to achieve a challenging and barely achievable goal. The pressures created by time restraints, language barriers, unfamiliar surroundings and fresh skills sets will provide an ample opportunity for the team to experience the learning objectives.
