Security, orientation and pre-deployment preparation.

All missions and locations offered have been thoroughly researched and reconnoitred to ensure that the foreign environment will not expose staff to an unacceptable level of risk. To further reduce the participants' vulnerability to the inherent threats a security expert
with local knowledge will provide tailored training and provide a brief that details all the necessary mitigation steps to be taken during the activity. This specialist will accompany the group whilst in country in order to reinforce the confidence of the participants.

Although an aspect of the rationale is to place the participants in an unfamiliar environment, it will be required that they undergo some basic cultural awareness training. This will introduce them to the culture (including some basic language training) and indirectly assist with the potential security threats that may present themselves. It will also assist the participant with preparing themselves and enable them to better plan for the mission.
Participants will not only be required to think about their own personal preparation, however, collectively they will begin to plan the mission itself. Guidance from a professional humanitarian aid worker will allow the team to work through the mission requirements, which will inevitably reveal that they are very similar to those of a new business venture. Once complete, links will be forged with a local partner on the ground to ensure the plan is feasible prior to departure.
After the training it's off to the Humanitarian Mission
